Learning to play is easy!

Yamaha CSP destroys the stereotypes formed by many that learning to play the piano is a long and difficult process. A dedicated app analyzes the music you want to play and then creates a piano accompaniment for you. All you need to do is follow the special Stream Lights!

Choose your favorite song from your music library. Upload a song to the Smart Pianist app and use the “Audio to Score” feature to create chords and notes.

Everything is ready! Just follow the Stream Lights cues to guide your fingers as you perform!

The Stream Lights function illuminates the desired keys, making the music even more exciting

Even if you can't read music, Stream Lights, used with interactive scores in the Smart Pianist app, will tell you which keys to press next to make your music practice even more enjoyable. You can also set this function for left or right hand only, or slow down the tempo in difficult parts to make the workout easier. There's even a Guide feature that pauses the song until you hit the correct keys.

Practice your favorite songs from a wide range of preset tracks

The Clavinova CSP-275 digital piano includes a large selection of preset songs, from well-known popular and classic tunes to practice exercises and etudes. View sheet music in the Yamaha Smart Pianist app and use Stream Lights to help you practice. You can also add new songs to your collection in the Smart Pianist app.

"Audio to Score" function to create chords and notes of songs from your playlist

If you want to play a song but don't know where to start or what to do, just use the Audio to Score feature included in the Yamaha Smart Pianist app. The program analyzes the MP3 and other audio data of the songs and creates a chord sequence with more than 50 accompaniment options according to your playing level. All you have to do is follow the key lighting.

GrandTouch-S™ keyboard with wooden keys

The latest Yamaha keyboard is characterized by a wide dynamic range and precise response to every nuance of touch, giving the pianist a wide range of timbres - from gentle to bright. High-tech hammers reproduce the pleasant response that is felt when hitting the strings, which allows you to precisely control the tone. White synthetic ivory keys and black synthetic ebony keys prevent slipping even during long playing sessions. Everything is like a real grand piano.

The GrandTouch-S keyboard of the CSP-275 model is equipped with wooden white keys that demonstrate Yamaha's experience in the field of manufacturing acoustic pianos and grand pianos. As with grand piano keyboards, the base of each white key is carved from a selected solid of well-dried wood, making the keys more resistant to warping than keyboards made from laminated wood. The wooden texture and structure of the keys create the feeling of a grand piano.

Mechanism with the "Escapement" effect

This mechanism in a grand piano quickly moves the hammers away from the strings after striking them to prevent any effect on the string vibration. This mechanism creates the feeling of a light click when you gently press the key.

Clavinova keyboards are equipped with a mechanism that reproduces this feeling at the bottom of the key stroke. They have been designed in such a way that the click is noticeable only when the key is pressed lightly, like on a grand piano keyboard. These keyboards have been tuned to provide additional friction that balances key repetition and response without compromising performance.

Grand Expression Modeling is a groundbreaking new technology that allows pianists to use their techniques to create limitless tonal variations unique to grand pianos. The interaction and play of hammers, dampers and strings inside the grand piano respond to the smallest nuances of the pianist's touches, creating a limitless range of tonal expression. The ability to vary the intensity and speed of touch to produce different tones adds another dimension to the joy of musical expression.

This allows you to change the sound by playing keys with different depths and at different speeds, even when using techniques such as trills or legato, or emphasizing the main melody over the accompaniment. Grand Expression Modeling perfectly reproduces the result expected from these techniques in many famous songs. Playing such pieces on a very expressive piano helps a pianist learn different techniques and experience the same joy of expression as an artist, only through sound.

The sound of Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial grand pianos

Clavinova piano sounds are recorded from several world-famous concert grand pianos. One of them is the CFX, Yamaha's best concert grand piano. Pianists around the world are enchanted by the impressive, singing, richly expressive sound of the CFX in concert halls. Another concert grand piano is the Imperial, the flagship model of Bösendorfer, the time-honored Viennese piano brand. Imperial is known for its abundance of colors and natural warmth. Yamaha accurately reproduces the characteristics of these concert grand pianos, carefully recording the entire tonal range of each of the 88 keys, capturing the most harmonious timbres each model has to offer.

Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM)

One of the charms of a grand piano is the pleasant resonance created by the vibration of the entire instrument. The Clavinova piano carefully reproduces this rich resonance, using a ground-breaking technology called Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM). The VRM creates a rich and varied sound by simulating the complex, sympathetic tones produced when the vibration of the strings is propagated to the soundboard and other strings, according to the timing and intensity of keystrokes and pedaling. The CSP-200 series pianos even reproduce the sounds made by the dampers as they rise from the strings, in addition to the resonance of duplex scaling, strings, soundboard, and body. Clavinova piano - allows you to enjoy instant dynamics and deep sound, which are reproduced by the entire body of the grand piano.

Immersive sound with the effect of presence - even in headphones!

Binaural sampling is a technique in which special microphones are placed on the mannequin's head in the same positions as the pianist's ears to capture the sounds of the piano as they sound in reality. We chose this method to create the atmosphere and full natural resonance of acoustic pianos in the Clavinova. This is what makes pianists feel as if they are sitting at a grand piano, even when they are playing with headphones. The game is so enjoyable that they forget they are wearing headphones no matter how long they keep playing.

On the CSP-200 series of pianos, binaural sampling was used for the Bösendorfer Imperial as well as the Yamaha CFX. Yamaha delivers high-resolution stereo sound through a specially designed dummy head that was used for recording.

We have also developed a Stereophonic Optimizer function - to achieve the same effect for piano effects. Stereophonic Optimizer technology reproduces the natural propagation of sound in headphones almost as accurately as binaural sampling for piano timbres other than CFX and Imperial.

Two-way acoustic system

Thanks to a powerful amplifier and a two-way speaker system, the CSP-275 sounds not only loud, but also rich. Separate speakers for the reproduction of midrange and treble reproduce clear and deep sound for full immersion in music.

Wireless Bluetooth® Audio connection

You can play music through the CSP-200 piano audio system using a Bluetooth-enabled smart device. Enjoy the game along with your favorite songs from your smart device.

Bluetooth® MIDI support

This convenient wireless connection between the instrument and the Smart Pianist app (on your smart device) allows you to fully focus on playing and enjoying the music without worrying about cables.

Microphone connection

You can enjoy karaoke with songs stored on your Clavinova or downloaded tracks. The lyrics (English only) are displayed in the Smart Pianist app, and the words change color as the song progresses, so you'll know exactly when to step in. Plug in a microphone and you can sing along with your own accompaniment. Built-in Vocal Harmony creates complex sound harmonies, enriching your voice and even able to adjust vocal pitch!

Multitrack recording

The recording function of Clavinova digital pianos allows you to record your performance* with one touch, which is useful when you want to objectively evaluate your playing. In addition, you can record up to 16 tracks for simultaneous playback, so you can record left and right hand parts individually, or add additional parts with different timbres.

*Recordings are performed in MIDI format and can also be recorded in the Smart Pianist application.

USB Type-C connection

A USB cable (Type-C to Type-C) is included with the CSP-275, so users who have a smart device with a Type-C connector can conveniently connect the instrument to their smart device with a single cable and without the need to purchase additional adapters.
