Model #5105 MC with an elegant individual design combines the brilliant elements characteristic of the famous 5000 series and introduces new combinations of materials that emphasize its exceptional characteristics. No detail was overlooked.

Like its 5000-series siblings, the #5105 MC features a one-inch, black-anodized, shot-blasted, solid aluminum front panel that flows smoothly into a sleek, recessed glass display, speed and standby controls. Mark Levinson's iconic hourglass handle design in shot-blasted aluminum with a gently curved profile mass filled with solid brass. The same silhouette is reflected in the special aluminum case of the two-axis gimbal tonearm.

A custom-made 10-inch gloss black carbon fiber tonearm is mounted on a one-piece aluminum headstock with a built-in finger lift.

A solid aluminum disc weighing over 6 kg (14 lb) is suspended on a ground hardened steel axle rotating on precision ball bearings that are pre-loaded with force for ultra-precise movement and damping.

The oil-free bearing housing is made from a mixture of composite materials with built-in lubrication and maintenance-free brass sintered bushings for years of easy operation.

12V synchronous motor with digital control and 33rpm and 45rpm speed selectable via front panel buttons. The fully digital output stage of the motor control signal generates almost no heat; therefore, there is no temperature drift. This ensures speed stability and low wow and flutter.

The built-in wide-range 90-260 VAC power supply and four included AC cables allow the #5105 MC to be used without any prior preparation anywhere in the world.

The MC #5105 is factory calibrated with an Ortofon Quintet Black moving coil cartridge.
