24-bit/96kHz sound quality

Most importantly, the iRIG HD2 just sounds great. It provides excellent sound quality thanks to premium 24-bit ADC codecs with a sampling frequency of 96 kHz (the highest in its class) for a crystal clear digital signal without noise and interference. This high-resolution conversion lets your guitar's natural tone come through loud and clear when recording and playing back on your iPad, iPhone, Mac, or PC.

Its super-transparent-sounding preamp ensures that every nuance of your instrument - from the pickups, woods, frets, electronics, or whatever reason you chose "this" guitar - will be accurately transmitted to your device without excessive tonal coloration, and thanks to the sampling frequency of 96 kHz, the depth and clarity of the sound will simply amaze you, because the iRIG HD2 sounds really great.

Amp Out with mode switch

One of the unique features of the iRIG HD2 is the ability to send the processed signal directly to a guitar amplifier, without the need for special adapters. The iRIG HD2 features an unbalanced 1/4" Amp Out that can be used to send a processed or raw guitar signal to a guitar amp, pedal tuner, or any other live performance setup. The Amp Out jack has a dual output mode switch and allows you to choose what type of signal you want to send to the amplifier.

In the "FX" position, the processed signal or sound coming from your software/application to the external device is sent to the output. This is an ideal option if you want to use your iPad or laptop as a virtual pedalboard with effects pedals, and your amplifier as a result will only complete the formation of the sound in a "live" setup.

In the "Thru" position, the clean, raw signal of your guitar is sent directly to the output, allowing you to use a rack or floor tuner, a real pedalboard, or a completely independent stage setup.

And as an added feature, the iRIG HD2 has a built-in mic holder and velcro, so you can attach it to a mic stand on stage while performing live.

Built-in headphone jack, compatible with iPhone 7

If you are planning to upgrade to the seventh version of the iPhone, then listen carefully. The iRIG HD2 features a 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone output with a level control integrated right into the main unit, so you'll be able to monitor recording and playback even if your new device doesn't have a headphone jack at all. Pretty cool !

But this is not an ordinary standard "headphone output" - it is a high-quality preamplifier that optimizes the sound signal for full-fledged quality reproduction and monitoring. You can also use this output to send a stereo signal to a mixing console or a pair of active monitors, such as the iLoud Micro Monitor.
