The Guild Starfire V is a luxurious semi-acoustic beauty with a sleek slim body and two Guild LB-1 "Little Bucker" pickups that deliver Guild's rich, natural, authentic sound, perfect for rock and blues. The Starfire V's body is made entirely of mahogany, featuring arched top and back necks with two Eph resonator holes, elegant ivory trim, and center-block construction. The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and maple with a vintage "soft U" profile, complemented by an ebony fingerboard. A signature Guild vibrato, a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a rosewood base, and original Grover Sta-Tite pegs complete the picture.

Semi-hollow design

Semi-hollow center-block construction (hollow on both sides and with a solid block of wood running through the center) gives the Starfire V a classic tone and outstanding Guild vintage character, while eliminating the typical drawbacks of semi-acoustic electric guitars - buzzing and risk of feedback when playing at high volume.

Comfortable three-part mahogany and maple neck

Multi-piece frets are much stronger and stiffer than solid frets, and this design is also very resistant to twisting and warping over the years. The vintage U-profile of the neck rests gently in the hand, guaranteeing exceptional playing comfort.

Signature Little Bucker humbuckers

The Guild Starfire V is equipped with a pair of scaled-down LB-1 "Little Bucker" humbuckers. These pickups were developed in the 1960s as an alternative to singles (single-coil pickups). The Little Bucker's tonal character is somewhat of a cross between a traditional single and a vintage PAF humbucker, offering a brighter attack and more ring than the PAF, but a noticeably tighter and warmer tone than the singles. Add to that a three-way switch, individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, and a separate master volume control, and you'll understand just how great the Starfire V can sound, regardless of the music genre!
