Even if you can't read music, Stream Lights, used with interactive scores in the Smart Pianist app, will tell you which keys to press next to make your music practice even more enjoyable. If you want to play a song but don't know where to start or what to do, just use the Audio to Score feature included in the Yamaha Smart Pianist app. The program analyzes the MP3 and other audio data of the songs and creates a chord sequence with more than 50 accompaniment options according to your playing level. All you have to do is follow the key lighting.

Use all your expression

When playing on a digital piano, the far part of the keys can cause difficulties in full musical self-expression. This is because the far area of ​​the key is closer to its fulcrum. The closer to this point you press the key, the less leverage you have and the more force you need to apply. The long length of the GrandTouch keys gives the player a longer lever of interaction, provides more expressive control even on the remote area of ​​​​the keys. Key counterbalance system

The ability to vary the intensity and speed of touch to produce different tones adds another dimension to the joy of musical expression.

This allows you to change the sound by playing keys with different depths and at different speeds, even when using techniques such as trills or legato, or emphasizing the main melody over the accompaniment. Grand Expression Modeling perfectly reproduces the result expected from these techniques in many famous songs. Clavinova piano sounds are recorded from several world-famous concert grand pianos. One of them is the CFX, Yamaha's best concert grand piano. Pianists around the world are enchanted by the impressive, singing, richly expressive sound of the CFX in concert halls. Another concert grand piano is the Imperial, the flagship model of Bösendorfer, the time-honored Viennese piano brand. Imperial is known for its abundance of colors and natural warmth. Yamaha accurately reproduces the characteristics of these concert grand pianos, carefully recording the entire tonal range of each of the 88 keys, capturing the most harmonious timbres each model has to offer.

Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM)

One of the charms of a grand piano is the pleasant resonance created by the vibration of the entire instrument. The Clavinova piano carefully reproduces this rich resonance, using a ground-breaking technology called Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM). The VRM creates a rich and varied sound by simulating the complex, sympathetic tones produced when the vibration of the strings is propagated to the soundboard and other strings, according to the timing and intensity of keystrokes and pedaling. The CSP-200 series pianos even reproduce the sounds made by the dampers as they rise from the strings, in addition to the resonance of duplex scaling, strings, soundboard, and body. Clavinova piano - allows you to enjoy instant dynamics and deep sound, which are reproduced by the entire body of the grand piano.

Immersive sound with the effect of presence - even in headphones!

On the CSP-200 series of pianos, binaural sampling was used for the Bösendorfer Imperial as well as the Yamaha CFX. Yamaha delivers high-resolution stereo sound through a specially designed dummy head that was used for recording.

We have also developed a Stereophonic Optimizer function - to achieve the same effect for piano effects. Stereophonic Optimizer technology reproduces the natural propagation of sound in headphones almost as accurately as binaural sampling for piano timbres other than CFX and Imperial.

Three-way acoustic system

The CSP-295's powerful 3-way speaker system includes separate midrange, tweeter, and woofer drivers, all of which are optimally balanced and appropriately placed in the cabinet to mimic the sound image of a grand piano. In addition, bidirectional speakers provide volume and richness of sound, creating a natural sound field similar to the resonance of the acoustic soundboard of a grand piano. And since all the speakers are hidden inside the case, the look and sound of this piano are perfectly elegant.

Bluetooth® MIDI support

This convenient wireless connection between the instrument and the Smart Pianist app (on your smart device) allows you to fully focus on playing and enjoying the music without worrying about cables.

Microphone connection

You can enjoy karaoke with songs stored on your Clavinova or downloaded tracks. The lyrics (English only) are displayed in the Smart Pianist app, and the words change color as the song progresses, so you'll know exactly when to step in. Plug in a microphone and you can sing along with your own accompaniment. Built-in Vocal Harmony creates complex sound harmonies, enriching your voice and even able to adjust vocal pitch!

Multitrack recording

The recording function of Clavinova digital pianos allows you to record your performance* with one touch, which is useful when you want to objectively evaluate your playing. In addition, you can record up to 16 tracks for simultaneous playback, so you can record left and right hand parts individually, or add additional parts with different timbres.
