Traditional sound from PRS

PRS SE 245 is an affordable and high-quality instrument with a dense classic sound that guitarists love so much. The ergonomic single-cutaway body is made of mahogany with a refined maple top, while the glued-in mahogany neck has a comfortable profile and adds softness and clarity to the instrument's tone. The shorter 24.5" scale adds convenience, especially when playing in bands. The new Paul Reed Smith signature headstock design emphasizes the pedigree of the SE 245, while a pair of signature humbuckers deliver a tight punchy sound, perfect for a variety of musical styles, from soft jazz to aggressive high-gain metal.

Wide-fat neck profile

The profile of the neck has a critical effect on playability and it is this characteristic that has made PRS guitars so beloved by many musicians. The PRS SE 245 neck has a wide-fat profile, based on instruments created in the 70s and 80s for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese. A rosewood fingerboard adorned with PRS' signature birds completes the sophisticated look of the SE 245 and adds density and "warmth" to the sound of the instrument.

245 "S" Pickups

Created specifically for this model, the 245 "S" humbuckers, based on vintage models, have become a true classic. They are distinguished by a soft and dense, but at the same time, clear and clean sound with an excellent attack. And the mahogany body adds a "fat" low-mid and incredible sustain to every note you play.
