For more than 25 years, Deftones' Stephen Carpenter has been exploring his own textures with the guitar and in the process became one of the founders of the musical genre of alternative metal.

Its updated LTD SC-608B signature series with its gorgeous Red Sparkle color allows musicians of all stripes to take advantage of the extended range of an 8-string guitar, while still getting the benefits of a great, reliable guitar that's fully ready for the studio or stage. The instrument features a through-neck design, 27-inch baritone scale, mahogany body, maple neck with ebony inlay, and 24 frets. The Fishman Fluence® SRC Signature active pickup has multiple sounds; use the push-pull volume control to select the desired one. On the middle pickup with an Alnico magnet in the lower push-pull position it sounds like "Modern Active" and in the upper position it sounds like "Modern Passive Attack". On the ceramic bridge pickup, the lower position is "Modern Passive Attack", the upper position is "Modern Active". This model uses a standard 9V battery to power the pickups.
